They started as a jazz-funk fusion band but ended up topping the charts with their uplifting sophisti-pop and dance-rock, featuring songs like “Lessons In Love,” “Running In The Family,” and “Something About You.”
Level 42 embarked on their musical journey in 1979 and released their self-titled debut album in 1981. The album showed early promise, entering the UK Top 20 charts. Since then, the British group hasn’t looked back, and things only got bigger when they had their major commercial breakthrough in 1985 with the album World Machine, which featured the massive hit “Lessons In Love,” a number 1 in England.
The band became known for Mark King’s thumb-slap bass technique, Wally Badarou’s synthesizer work, and their infectious approach to upbeat, danceable pop-rock, which still holds strong today, continuing to dominate the airwaves, playlists, and sell-out concert venues across the country.
Look forward to experiencing Level 42 when they take the stage in Viborg!
